Introduction

Welcome to AstroGrav!

AstroGrav is a software program that allows you to study how astronomical objects move and interact under the force of gravity. It features superb interactive 3D graphics which allow you to move around within an astronomical system that you are viewing, while watching how it evolves with the passage of time.

A wide variety of sample files are provided, including Solar System, space mission, and abstract systems, and these enable you to experiment with AstroGrav without having to go to the trouble of entering your own data. The comprehensive editing facilities allow you to either create your own astronomical systems, or to modify existing ones, and provide you with an almost endless scope for experimentation and investigation.

An installation of AstroGrav contains the following files.

If you want to uninstall AstroGrav, then simply delete the AstroGrav folder and its contents.

Getting Started

AstroGrav comes with complete documentation, which you can view at any time by selecting the AstroGrav Help command from the Help menu. This documentation includes a comprehensive tutorial, which will introduce you to the basic features of AstroGrav, and show you how to use them effectively.

If you would rather experiment with AstroGrav than follow through the tutorial, then please bear in mind that when using model windows, mouse clicks and mouse drags perform different functions depending on which of the Alt, Shift, and Control keys are depressed while clicking or dragging. You can view a summary of these commands at any time by selecting the Model Navigation command from the Help menu.

If you have any problems getting started, then please contact us so that we can help you out. We are also pleased to receive any comments that you have about AstroGrav, and any requests for additional features to be added to future versions.

Enjoy using AstroGrav!
